INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) – A digital health company released its list of the healthiest states in the US, and Indiana is in an unfortunate position. According to Atlanta-based Sharecare, Hoosier State is number 41 on the list. The study was carried out in collaboration with the Boston University School of Public Health.

According to Sharecare, the 2020 study rated the wellbeing of more than 450,000 respondents in all 50 states.

Various individual health risk factors were assessed: physical health, access to food, access to health care, housing, among others.

Massachusetts is the highest ranked state, but Mississippi ranks 50th.

Sharecare was introduced by TV presenter Dr. Mehmet Oz and Jeff Arnold, an entrepreneur who founded WebMD. The digital tool provides consumers with personalized information, programs and resources to improve their health.
