INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A crispy and somewhat smooth start to the last day of 2020. Temperatures begin in the lower to mid 20s with decreasing cloud cover in the morning hours. Today’s highs are reached in the upper 30s with mostly sunny skies. Today’s clouds are increasing with the lows falling in the lower 30’s.
Our second weather maker of the week arrives tonight and brings freezing rain first, which turns into rain as soon as it gets warmer. The morning ride could be a messy one for those early on. We could see 0.10 “-0.25” ice accumulation with higher amounts in Northern Indiana. Winter weather advice runs from 3 to 11 a.m. from Indy and faces north. The rain will stay with us for the later half of the morning through early afternoon, with the possibility of heavy rain with an additional 1 inch of rain. The maximum values are reached in the upper 40s to the lower 50s.
Overall, this weekend will be quiet and there is the option of a light shower on Saturday. The highs are reached on both Saturday and Sunday in the lower 40s. Might see some light snow flurries early Sunday or most of Sunday afternoon will be cloudy.
It should be quiet early next week with highs in the low to mid 40s with lots of sunshine.
