INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Scott Dixon set the fastest lap at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Fast Friday before qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 on Saturday and Sunday.

Marcus Ericsson posted the best four-lap average, and the Honda-powered cars took seven of the top 10 positions as the Indianapolis 500 prepared for qualifying weekend.

Dixon picked up the highest award of the day at a speed of 233,302 mph. With Indy’s unique format, Ericsson’s speed of 231,949 may offer a better preview of the first day of qualifying.

Colton Herta had the second best four-round average with 231,726.

Pato O’Ward had the best Chevrolet with 231,522.

The training on Saturday takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in two groups. Qualifying takes place on Saturday from 12 noon to 5:50 p.m. General admission tickets are $ 20; They can be bought at IMS.com or at the gates. Children up to the age of 15 have free admission with a paying adult. Free parking spaces are available in lot 7, also known as the “North 40” parking lot. Paid parking spaces are available for access to the main gate, gate 1 and lot 2. Parking in the infield is not permitted. Parking and gate locations are filled with cash and credit. All IMS concession stands and merchandise locations are cashless this year.
