Expansion of capacity for bars and restaurants in Indianapolis

-INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis will ease coronavirus restrictions on the city’s bars and restaurants starting next week ahead of the upcoming Big Ten and NCAA men’s basketball tournaments. As a result of the changes, bars can be occupied at 50% instead of 25% as of Monday, while indoor restaurant capacity will increase from 50% to 75%. Bars, restaurants and music venues can also close two hours later, at 2 a.m. instead of midnight. Mayor Joe Hogsett says the changes were caused by a drop in COVID-19 cases and the city’s coronavirus positivity rate, and not due to upcoming tournaments.
