Governor David Ige has ordered that the flag of the United States and the state of Hawaii be flown halfway through the staff immediately by sunset on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
The action is to honor the victims who were involved in a mass shooting in Indianapolis that killed eight people and injured several others.
“I am sad to hear the news of yet another mass shooting in the United States,” said Governor David Ige. “Our hearts go out to the victims of this senseless tragedy and to their families in mourning.
The order applies to flags in the State Capitol and on all state offices and agencies, as well as the Hawai’i National Guard in the state of Hawai’i.
