INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis companies that fail to comply with the city’s coronavirus restrictions are facing a higher likelihood of fines as officials say they will step up enforcement.
Bars and nightclubs remain closed in town, as Dr. Virginia Caine, director of the Marion County Department of Health, on Tuesday said 20-29 year olds were the fastest growing age group for new COVID-19 infections in July.
Mayor Joe Hogsett said several companies broke city rules over the weekend regarding crowd, distancing and face masks.
In one case, the Indianapolis Speedrome circuit on the east side of the city was fined $ 1,000 for exceeding its 25% capacity limit on Saturday.
