Just in time for the holidays, a designer label and an import from Detroit add to the Indy fashion scene.
Pete Buttigieg’s nomination as Transportation Secretary and the Bottleworks Hotel debut were perhaps the week’s biggest news, but don’t overlook the opening of two different, but equally highly anticipated, new stores within the Indy city limits on Tuesday.
Louis Vuitton (The Fashion Mall, 317-575-1968) is the designer house’s first standalone retail space in the state, enhancing its presence as an oversized area on Saks Fifth Avenue. You will find the new Louis on the ground floor, in the former Burberry branch near Tiffany & Co. The interior is just as luxurious as the leather goods, shoes, accessories, fragrances, candles and luggage for men and women. The store doesn’t sell clothes, but you can drop $ 600 on a candle.
At the same time based in Detroit Good neighbor (850 Massachusetts Ave.) turned the key to his second home, this one in the brand new Bottleworks Hotel. You will most likely enter through your own outside door, but make sure to visit the hotel while you are there. Good Neighbor is sure to be what is being said, bringing a welcome selection of high quality, casual ready-to-wear clothing for men and women – the look is similar to that of J. Crew and Urban Outfitters who had a kid – to Mass Ave, which is a lot too has to offer from specialty shops but few fashion boutiques. Expect these clothes to last a while and be from a variety of brands including Levi’s, Richer Poorer, Free People, and Gentle Fawn. Aside from looking great, knowing that the shop is giving away a percentage of its profits to charitable or nonprofit organizations can make you feel amazing.
