NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – The Noblesville Fire Department announced that the Homebound Hoosier EMS vaccine delivery program will help local residents who cannot leave their homes get vaccinated.
The program is a collaborative public health initiative in the state of Indiana.
“It’s really important that we can reach these people,” said James Macky, Noblesville Fire Department chief.
The fire department says it is partnering with the Hamilton County Health Department to reach out to these vulnerable or hard-to-reach people.
“What crossed my mind is that we have older people in our communities who can be house-bound,” Macky said. “You can’t go out and the question was, ‘How do we deal with this? How can we reach these people? ”
