DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered that all flags in Iowa be shown by sunset on Tuesday April 20 to honor and commemorate the eight people who lived at a FedEx facility on April 15 were shot in Indianapolis, should stay halfway through the workforce.
Reynolds’ order comes in conjunction with President Biden’s proclamation to lower all US flags to half the staff for the same time.
The flags will be half occupied in the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. In all public buildings, properties, and facilities in the state, flags will be half-occupied.
Individuals, businesses, schools, communities, counties, and other government departments are encouraged to hoist the flags at half the workforce for the same amount of time.
