INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – After a fantastic start to the working week, we are tracking the rain and snow probabilities for our Tuesday with much colder air.
Monday night: The clouds are increasing in part as the sky becomes mostly cloudy. The lows fall in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Tuesday: We will have a mixture of sun and clouds to start our Tuesday. Cloud cover and winds will increase throughout the day if we work in isolated showers on Tuesday afternoon. The colder air then sinks into the state causing the rain to turn into snow. The snow can be heavy at times. In terms of snow totals, we are only looking at minor accumulations on grassy and raised surfaces.
The highs will be a little cooler from the Monday highs as we won’t be moving up until the mid-50s.
Tuesday evening is cold with lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Because of this, a frost warning is in place across much of the state from late Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
Wednesday: Lingering snow showers are possible on Wednesday morning, but these will be gone by the afternoon hours as the clouds subside a bit. Watch out for warmer layers as it will be a cold spring day and the highs won’t be reached until the mid-1940s.
8-day forecast: The widespread frost will develop just before sunrise on Thursday. A gradual warming trend will affect the forecast as we finish the work week and move through the coming weekend. The chance of rain will return by Friday and increase by the weekend.
