INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) – Governor Eric Holcomb has started a scholarship program to support Indiana hotels and entertainment venues. The Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant program includes US $ 30 million federal funding for eligible businesses that have “been severely impacted over the past year and largely excluded from other government aid programs.”
Eligible businesses can request reimbursement of certain business expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, according to Holcomb’s office. Qualified expenses include wage and salary costs and non-wage and salary costs such as insurance premiums, rent or mortgage payments, utilities, lease payments, and security investments.
Businesses may receive up to $ 100,000 per month but cannot exceed a total of $ 1 million.
“I continue to be encouraged and inspired by the resilience of India’s business world,” Holcomb said in a press release. “This new scholarship program is another resource that will help Hoosier companies weather the financial impact of the pandemic and prepare to welcome guests and visitors back in the months ahead.”
Some of the requirements for businesses to be eligible for the program include being set before October 1, 2019; still operating in Indiana; Be registered for an Indiana operation and claim reimbursement for expenses related only to the Indiana operation; and with fewer than 500 full-time employees in 2019.
